Silvia Caluwaerts

Silvia has over 25 years of experience in nonclinical and clinical pharmacology with focus on strategic drug development in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry. Over the last 15 years, Silvia was head of a nonclinical team responsible for lead programs and IND enabling studies in a highly dynamic biotechnology environment. Silvia was involved in multiple early stage clinical programs, among which recently a successful Phase 1b/2a clinical trial in type 1 diabetes using genetically modified bacteria secreting autoantigens, resulting in the induction of antigen-specific regulatory T cells.
